‘American Idol’ notes: Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Candice Glover videos

The latest -Kelly’s “Tie It Up” – We’re all about videos in this “American Idol” notes article, and we begin with the latest from the original winner of the show. This is a country track more so than anything else, but it’s also a wedding song for the engaged singer and Brandon Blackstock.

The video for the song below is rather simple, but also pretty cute as it shows a number of other married couples in video and photo form. In addition to this being a pretty smart song for Kelly thanks to the timing of it in her life, it could also have a long shelf life. There are not that many songs out there specifically about the concept of a wedding, given that most think about love in more abstract terms. Plus, there is also that percentage of people out there who get so stressed out during their wedding planning that they really do not have much of an opportunity at all to enjoy it.

Candice Glover’s “Cried” – If you click here, then you can listen to a few seconds of the reigning champion’s brand-new single over on her Instagram page. It sounds like her voice is really being utilized here more than in some of the other original songs that she’s recorded so far, but it’s a small sample.

But what’s with the contestants this season having songs all about tears? Are they expressing their feelings on the most-recent judging panel? First, Kree Harrison had “All Cried Out,” and now we have this.

Carrie’s new interview – The video below (via Mjsbigblog) features another winner in Carrie Underwood on “Live! with Kelly and Michael,” where she was there to promote her “Blown Away” concert DVD. It’s pretty far-reaching, but it talks about everything from her recent performance with the Rolling Stones to appearing in “The Sound of Music” later this year on NBC.

We have some more Carrie Underwood videos here, along with some other news about Kellie Pickler and Lee DeWyze.
