‘Breaking Bad’ season 5, episode 9 preview: An Aaron Paul – ‘Star Trek’ video!

A sneak peek -After waiting for many weeks, AMC has finally become kind enough to give so many fans of “Breaking Bad” what they have been looking forward to seeing almost beyond anything else: Some actual footage from the midseason premiere Sunday night. This is basically a case of good and bad news when you think about it.

The good news – The scene below, which features Jesse Pinkman having to listen to a stoned-out Badger and Skinny Pete talk about “Star Trek,” is pretty hilarious. It’s also random, and has nothing to do with the plot. Therefore, the network is giving us something, but they have found a way to do so without ruining anything at the same time. Cheers to that!

The bad news – It’s less than a minute long, and it is probably not going to do anything for you beyond pounding the walls of your current watching environment and shouting “me want more!”. (Warning: It’s probably best to not watch this in a library … also because of swearing.)

Basically, what we learn about this “Captain Kirk” debate is pretty simple: The series is not going to be stretching itself to the point where it is unrecognizable in the final eight episodes of its run. If there are specific reasons that you enjoyed it prior to Sunday’s episode, they are the same reasons that you’re going to love it now.

Let’s just hope that you are prepared for the feeling that the rest of this series is going to blow by incredibly fast. Eight weeks is nothing in TV terms, especially when it comes to something of this high quality. Even some of the bloopers and some other footage that is out there may not distract you from the withdrawals you’re likely to get once all of this is over.

Be sure to come back after the episode airs tomorrow, as we’re going to have a full review online!
