‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 7 preview: Fears over Yvonne Strahovski’s Hannah

Dexter and Debra Morgan are going to find themselves in quite the precarious position on Sunday night’s all-new “Dexter” season 8 episode: Hannah McKay is back in town, and she is up to no good. The last time we saw her, she was leaving her love Dexter a rather haunting memento following her escape from prison; she’s already tried to kill Deb before, and odds are that she’ll do so again if she gets in her way.

The good news? In the video below, Dexter and Deb seem to be on the same page when it comes to the knowledge that Hanna = trouble for them. He doesn’t feel as though she is going to be so willing to let him live or let him stay free this time around, given that time has passed, and she may no longer be in love with him. (After all, a promo for this episode suggested that she’s now actually married to some poor sap.)

So with Deb and Dexter both seemingly wanting her out of the picture, the question that comes now is just if either one of them will be able to succeed in that. It may take time, given that Yvonne Strahovski’s character is not going to be so willing to give in to either pressure or humble requests to get out of town. We also know already that she’s got at least one more episode in her, and following that, the future of Hannah is a little bit more unclear.

The only thing scarier than Hannah wrecking everything now? That following this episode’s conclusion, there are only five more episodes left in the series. As someone who has seen every episode and remembers most of them fondly, this is an extremely-depressing thought.
