‘American Horror Story: Coven’ spoilers: Sarah Paulson on Jessica Lange dynamic

The latest -Although the latter portion of “American Horror Story: Asylum” had its moments of utter “WTF?”, it was the relationship that existed between Lana and Sister Jude that really brought this story together. There was such an interesting arc between Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange’s characters that turned these one-time enemies into people that could help one another, even if there was still plenty of tragedy that occurred in the end.

So where do you go from here when it comes to the “Coven” season? By also having something that is interesting to watch between the two actresses, but in a completely different way. Speaking to TV Guide, Paulson reveals that the conflict this time between the two is as members of the same family, and not of a journalist arriving to a church-run asylum with many questions as to how patients are being cared for:

“Our characters are very different kind of women and that’s where the conflict comes, but I’m her child, so there’s some question as to why I’m different.”

One other interesting detail that has been revealed by executive producer Tim Minear is that Lange’s character Fiona is far “worse” than her season 1 role of Constance, which suggests that she and Kathy Bates’ character (who also is not exactly going to be the patron saint of kindness either) could be in for some epic clashes. Considering the awards-show clout that exists between these two, their interaction should be pretty epic.

Is there anything in particular that you are hoping to see from Lange and Paulson this year? As always, we’re interested in hearing some of your thoughts with a comment below! Meanwhile, click here if you want to see some of the recent teaser videos that have been unveiled by FX.
