‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Prepare to meet Ezekiel

SupernaturalYou already know Castiel rather well within the world of “Supernatural,” so how about getting to know another angel to go along with it? With that in mind, we are here today to introduce the newest addition to the show’s ever-expanding universe, and someone that should be a very familiar face to those of you out there who are diehard science fiction fans.

Sources have confirmed that Tahmoh Penikett, best known for his parts on “Battlestar Galactica” along with “Dollhouse,” has bagged a multi-episode arc on The CW fan favorite playing Ezekiel, a skilled angel warrior. The problem? He’s going to have to cross the word “angel” off of his attribute list, since like with Misha Collins’ character, he has a certainly problem courtesy of him falling down to earth.

We will first see Ezekiel during the season premiere “I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here,” which is an episode that poses a number of interesting questions for our more angelic characters. They have to grow accustomed to being in a world where they no longer know everything that is around them, and it’s like teaching someone to walk, talk, and eat again. All of those powers? They’re all gone, and now eating a cheeseburger will feel somewhat special. (We’re pitching the idea of Castiel at a drive-thru… that would be boss.)

Thanks to a schedule shift on The CW, “Supernatural” will premiere on Tuesday, October 8 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. So congratulations: The wait to see more of the Winchesters is a week shorter than originally planned.
