‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: More on Cote de Pablo’s exit via Michael Weatherly

More on her exit -September 24 will mark the beginning of the end of an era for “NCIS” fans, and one that has lasted for a solid eight years now: The age of Ziva. Although Cote de Pablo was not an original member of the cast, there were many times in which she genuinely felt like one. Therefore, there was easily an enormous amount of sadness that comes with waving goodbye to someone that feels like a part of the family.

Lucky, the following should put an end to all of the questions about whether or not Ziva and Tony will get together by the very end of her journey: It’s looking more and more like they will, and the wait for this will finally be over. For specific details, we turn to executive producer Gary Glasberg and his comments to TV Guide:

“Ziva is out in the ether and Tony has to go off and find her. The second episode is really all about Tony and Ziva, and, I hope, delivers all the things the Tiva fans are going to want.”

Meanwhile, Cote’s co-star Michael Weatherly even talks about the final moments for the two characters using an allusion to Greek mythology:

“The will they/won’t they is answered. Tony’s going to be forced to face this Sword of Damocles that’s been hanging over him since Season 3.”

For those curious, the Sword of Damocles was a symbol of fear and responsibility, which Weatherly is saying is something that Tony long wanted to shirk in favor of living a life that was at its best comfortable and without fear. There’s a great risk that comes with trying to make a relationship work, especially when it is with someone that you have known for as long as these two have.
