‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Comic-Con reveals Misha Collins, Felicia Day surprises
On Sunday, the cast and crew of “Supernatural” finally had their day in the sun, and this meant in the process the opportunity to tease what could be a very fun, action-packaged, and also surprising season of television coming up. There is a lot of ground for them to touch on, and the Comic-Con panel today was stuffed full of some welcome news.
First of all, cheers for Felicia Day fans! The unofficial queen of Comic-Con is going to have a pretty important role in this season, at least based on what Robert Singer (executive producer) told the fans in attendance. With that in mind, we have to believe that her role is going to stretch far beyond just the opportunity to have one or two isolated stories here and there.
Meanwhile, Misha Collins had an opportunity to explain just how radical of a shift that we are looking at here when it comes to Castiel, who is for the first time going to be forced into looking at his life as a human, and not just some angel who has been gifted with some special powers:
“[Now] he can pop in and basically fold laundry. There’s a shift in the dynamic there in terms of how he can be utilized by the brothers. For Castiel’s arc, it’s going to be an immensely rich terrain to explore … [He will be] getting to experience what it’s like to actually eat — and then what happens to the food after. You’re an adult and you’re flushing the toilet for the first time. There’s gotta be an epiphany.”
We also learned that Sam and Dean are both actually going to be in a good place for one of the first times in recent memory at the start of a season, but the problem is that the sacrifice that they made for each other is going to have all sorts of unexpected consequences. This is what they will be contending with very early on in the season.
