‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: The beginning of the Black Canary’s story
However, there has been a little bit of confusion about the casting of Caity Lotz, and what she is going to be playing on the show in relation to the Canary. Is she donning the outfit herself? Not necessarily, as executive producer Andrew Kreisberg does his part to clarify in a chat with TV Guide:
“There’s been a bit of misinformation printed out there and what I would say is, yes, Caity Lotz is joining the show in a recurring role and we’re really excited … She’s a tremendously talented actress. The character she’s playing is really the beginning of the story of the Black Canary … The character that Caity is portraying is the beginning of the Black Canary story and we’re really excited for the fans to go on the journey with us. So much of our show is about defying expectations, meeting expectations and exceeding expectations, and we really want our fans to experience the show by watching it and enjoying it and enjoying all the twists and turns and surprises the way we intend.”
You do have to prepare for there to be some sort of waiting game for the story still, given that there is no real reason to rush into taking Laurel in this direction. But who knows? If Caity’s character sets off a chain of events, we are all about that so long as the evolution to the endpoint feels natural.
When do you think is the right time for Laurel to make this transformation in full? If you want to check out some other great “Arrow” season 2 casting intel, just be sure to visit the link here.

Season 2 finale maybe, if the rest of the season doesn’t make it predictable. But if it becomes to foreseeable, then maybe the season middle finale.
