‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Is Jim Beaver coming back as Bobby?
If you ask “Supernatural” fans who their top five favorite non-Winchester characters are, more often than not, Bobby can be found somewhere on the list. Jim Beaver has created the sort of guy who feels incredibly human on an emotional level, even in a world where there are constantly weird, wacky, and out-of-this-world things constantly happening. When Bobby died, it was one of the sadder moments of the show’s nine-year history.
Luckily, we’ve learned over the years with this show that really anything can happen, and with that in mind, we’re pleased to see that it does appear as though Jim is heading back! In a post on Twitter, the actor said the following about his upcoming gig and Bobby’s reprisal to the world of the show:
“Read the script. Didn’t see this one coming. Whatever you think it is — it ain’t. #Bobbysback”
Beaver then went on to give a number of joke possibilities for his return to the show, including that he and Garth are starring in a spin-off, and that his skin is being used in a variety of disgusting ways. (Strangely, neither of these feel like they are altogether that far out of the realm of possibility when it comes to this show.)
The new season of “Supernatural” will premiere on Tuesday, October 15, and some other stories to watch for include the angels’ fall from heaven, and Sam’s attempts to recover and work back from what happened to him with the trials.

If you want to get technical the first time he never actually left. They were referencing him being a ghost in the very next episode.
