‘Teen Mom 3’: Check out first trailer featuring Mackenzie Douthit, cast

Is MTV’s “Teen Mom” phenomenon really still going strong? It seems unfair at times to really judge everyone on this show based on a select few people, but it is at the same time rather hard not to. While we know that Leah Messer and Maci Bookout have been reasonably good role models, the likes of Amber Portwood, Jenelle Evans, and even to an extent Farrah Abraham (mostly due to things not related to her arrest) have all put a bit of stink on the franchise thanks to all of their problems with the law.

Can this group of women really find a way to turn this around a little bit? We’re still not entirely sure. We sympathize for anyone that is put in this situation, and regardless of whether or not the “Teen Mom 3” production helps some of these women out with their difficult situations, they are still the ones at the end of the day who have to live their lives. It can’t always be easy.

But are the journeys of Katie Yeager, Alex Sekella, Mackenzie Douthit and Briana DeJesus worth watching? We suppose that the ratings will decide, but after watching several years’ worth of baby daddies acting horrible and young girls crying, we can’t really say that we’re jumping up and down for August 26 to roll around. Unless something very different happens on this season, we are more inclined at this point to just stick with our Monday-night tradition of “Under the Dome.”
