Industry season 5 spoilers: Marisa Abela on Yasmin’s future
Filming for Industry season 5 is going to happen for a good chunk of the rest of the year — and of course, we imagine that this is going to be the most important chapter for the series so far. How can it not? This is the final season, meaning that the creative team has to cultivate proper endgames for most of the characters.
With Yasmin in particular, doing that may be harder than most. This is someone who has had an incredibly tumultuous journey on the show over the years, and it ended in what we would describe as an especially terrible place. This is someone who has taken an extremely dark turn with how she is operating in regards to young women — and is this going to be where it ends?

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Marisa Abela did confirm that she knows how her character’s story ends:
I feel protective over Yasmin. I understand that she’s fictional of course, so in a way the thing I feel most protective over is that she gets a really interesting storyline. And I know that she’s going to. And I have to admit, I do know where it goes next season, so this is a hard line to toe. We know that wherever Yasmin ends up at the end of season five will be her final resting place, and of course I would want it to be on the mountaintop somewhere. But I also know the show and I don’t know whether that’s possible. I think about Don Draper and how much better it was that he didn’t actually end on top; there was a coda that made it a little spicier.
Ultimately, we know that redemption is a major part of Industry’s core and yet, that does not mean that everyone leaves this world happy. Redemption and public perception are hardly the same thing, and we do have to keep that in mind.
