‘Suits’ season 3 tributes ‘Game of Thrones,’ Michelle Fairley with new promo

With the premiere of “Suits” season 3 being just a week away now, we are pleased to present you with something that is a little bit different (and epic) than anything else that the show has ever done over the years: Combining the “Suits” experience with that of “Game of Thrones.”

From a promotional standpoint, this whole “Game of Suits” video is absolutely brilliant, since it serves three purposes: It gets people excited about the show, links it with a huge franchise over on HBO, and also introduces many fans to the idea of seeing Michelle Fairley as a character other than Catelyn Stark. The actress has a multi-episode arc this season playing the part of a wealthy oil tycoon who Harvey is representing, but the two run into some unforeseen circumstances that make their case far more difficult to navigate than either one of them probably predicted it would be before the fact.

While there are some more interesting wrinkles out there about Fairley’s character, we want to be pretty careful here about what we say so that the storyline stays surprising. Let’s just say for now that she is just as brilliant on this show as she is on “Game of Thrones,” and it is pretty fascinating to see her thrown into a modern setting after watching her constantly surrounded by fantasy elements and a very different sort of lavish costume.

As if this clip wasn’t amazing enough, you also have a quote about the Lannisters at the tail end. (Considering that we’re sitting here drinking out of a glass with House Baratheon on it, it’s fair to say that we’re quite the “Game of Thrones” fan.)
