This just in: The producers of “The Bachelorette” really want you to believe that James Case is the reincarnation of the Devil … and it’s all over some comments that were said when the cameras were not rolling. Just from a storytelling standpoint alone, it’s hard to really be excited about a story where we are required to take someone at their word.
Let’s revisit the original source of the drama for a second, as James supposedly said more or less that he is trying to leverage himself as a guy hoping to land the next gig as “The Bachelor” at the end of this show. We know this isn’t verbatim, but nobody except the people in the room at the time (Mikey Tenerelli and Drew Kenney) really know what was said. The other thing that should be noted? During his conference call last week, Mikey claimed that James never said this comment to begin with, and Drew either misheard something or he had it come to him telepathically in his sleep.
No matter what happened behind the scenes, producers love the drama they are getting out of Desiree confronting James about it. While she says that she “trusts” him, the fact that guys are causing trouble is a red flag. It typically is. We generally believe that if someone is a good person for you, they will get along with most of the other people in the house, and it’s very rare that everyone will gang up on someone without some sort of justification for it. Therefore, even if James didn’t say what was quoted, he probably is still doing something to rub the guys the wrong way. After all, nobody’s attacking Brooks, and he’s well-known as the favorite to win.
What do you think about this promo, and are you starting to think that we are at the point on “The Bachelorette” where the guys will say almost anything to get ahead? If you want to read a tease regarding something a little bit sillier on the show, you can do so over at the link here.
