When “The Vampire Diaries” season 5 picks up on The CW in the new year, school is going to be in session! Specifically, we’re actually talking about college here after the graduation of Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola), and the two characters will have an opportunity to try and address what they want their non-vampire lives to be like for the years (and years, and years) to come.
Yesterday, we shared some scoop on two of the new characters that the show is casting for, and now we have two more. Remember, this season is going to have a much larger assembling of new faces than usual, thanks mostly to the departure of Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, and Claire Holt over to “The Originals.” According to SpoilerTV, producers are casting a character named Megan for the show’s October 10 premiere who is described as being extremely smart to the point where she is the head of the class, but it also sounds somewhat like this same distinction could get her into some trouble. (Remember, it’s never nice to bandy your intelligence about.)
Meanwhile, we are going to see a very different sort of character first appear during the third episode of the season. Her name is Tessa, and she is the daughter of a powerful nobleman. It’s a little more unclear if she is someone also situated within the college world, or if she is coming in from somewhere else to deal with some of our favorite characters.
What do you think about these two roles, and do you picture some fun things happening with them? (We definitely do in the case of Megan). Be sure to share some of your thoughts with a comment below!
