‘Anger Management’ spoilers: Charlie Sheen series casting Selma Blair replacement

Anger ManagementWell, so much for Charlie Sheen’s pipe dream of landing Mila Kunis for a ten-episode arc on “Anger Management,” even for the incredible price of $1 million an episode. Following the exit of Selma Blair, which was a nasty and volatile situation regarding her allegedly being fired via text message for bad-mouthing Sheen’s work ethic, the FX series is not trying to cast someone to be a potential new series regular on the show, and play the same sort of therapist / love interest like Blair’s Kate character.

The Hollywood Reporter obtained what seems to be part of the official description for this new character, who is described as “neurotic” and hard on herself:

“If Charlie and Kate were like Sam and Diane on Cheers, then you are Rebecca. Tough, career driven, neurotic and you wear your heart on your sleeve. And you hate yourself for eventually becoming attracted to Charlie.”

Producers are specifically looking for a Caucasian or Latino woman in her thirties or forties who is “gorgeous,” and will have the time in their schedule to take on such a gig on short notice.

We imagine that this is going to be an extremely difficult role for the series to cast. After both the Blair disaster and “Two and a Half Men,” how many actresses out there will want to work with Sheen? We’re also sure that producers would love to have someone who is a reasonably big star on the show in an effort to boost ratings, but what celebrity wants to put it all on the line to work on this show?

What is your reaction to this news, and do you think that the show has any hope of actually recovering from this fiasco? If you want to read more on Blair’s firing, you can do so over at the link here.
