‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Desiree Hartsock, Zak Waddell, and an old favorite

If you are going on “The Bachelorette,” there may be some sort of hidden checklist to see whether or not you are following some of the show’s famous cliches. Are you going to tell a sob story? Check. Do you have nice abs? Check. Are you going to play the guitar? For Zak Waddell, the answer here seems to be “yes.”

We want to give Zak the benefit of the doubt here, mostly because he did turn out to be much more than just the guy who showed up without a shirt on the first night. He seems to be a man of some substance, and cares about Desiree Hartsock on a certain level, but busting out the guitar hasn’t always worked out well. We have those terrible memories of Wes so ingrained into our memory that we fear for young Zak.

Anyhow, this guitar-playing may actually be exactly what he needs if he wants to get some more alone time with Desiree, and sometimes, you just have to do what you have to do in order to make it happen. We know he’s not some sort of aspiring singer / songwriter on the same level as Wes, so we are probably not going to hear yet another rendition of “Love Don’t Come Easy.” (We can only hope so.)
