‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Desiree Hartsock, dodgeball, and Brooks Forester

Not since the days of Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller has dodgeball been as important to a story as it is during Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelorette.” Admittedly, these are always our least-favorite dates of the season: Who wants to see guys engage in possible physical violence in order to win over a woman? It suddenly becomes less about being the right guy, and more about who is the strongest. Basically, we’re taken back to the stone age when we’d much rather see the battle of the minds.

So while some of the outfits are pretty silly, as evidenced by the photo above, there is something pretty ugly that goes down in the game. ABC has already teased publicly that there is an injury at some point that is serious enough to be given some screen time (they wouldn’t bother with the minor stuff), and once again, the network has also shown that they have no problem whatsoever when it comes to spoiling their own show.

What are we talking about? Well, think about it this way: Brooks Forester is seen rehearsing for the game in the photo to the left, but he’s not in the photo above. Coincidence? We assume it’s possible that the guy isn’t a part of the group photo for another reason, but signs point to him being the injured party. The show wouldn’t take someone on a group date, after all, without actually using them.

Crazy as it may seem, Brooks being injured could still work out in his favor. This would allow him an opportunity to spent a little bit more time with Desiree,and she would be very sympathetic and caring to him. The downside? There could be jealousy from the guys, or people suggesting that he’s pulling a Tierra for whatever reason. (It all depends on how he’s hurt, if that is what happens.)
