‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, Kelly Clarkson

American IdolLet’s hope that you love videos, given that this “American Idol” notes article is literally stuffed full of them. Here’s to sitting back and watching a few performances on a lazy Sunday!

1. Candice Glover and Jessica Sanchez’s reprise – Remember “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” from season 11? After watching these two slay the old-timey hit alongside Deandre Brackensick, this is what we were thinking about the vast majority of the rest of the competition. The strangest thing about this performance was seeing Candice eliminated after it in group week, only to return this season and win the whole competition.

Well the two ladies have their own new version of the song now, as performed during a Ustream video. Enjoy!

2. Kree Harrison gets patriotic – There is a reason that so many former “American Idol” contestants choose to perform the National Anthem for various events: Because they are amazing at it. This rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” was done by Kree Harrison during the annual City of Hope softball event, and we do not really have to wonder whether or not she nailed it. The answer here is a sure-fire yes, and proof once again that nobody does the anthem quite like those who graduate from this show. (Video below via Mjsbigblog.)

3. Kelly’s new country single – While at CMA Fest this weekend, Kelly Clarkson debuted her new song “Tie It Up” in front of a live audience. While we will always prefer Kelly singing pop, we understand her slowly becoming a part of this genre given who her husband is, and the fact that so many of her good friends are country artists. Ultimately, we think that she will dabble between the two genres the rest of her career.
