‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: Meet the new Big Bad

If there are calling cards of “Dexter” as a series, one of them has to be the fact that just about every season, there is some sort of “Big Bad” that gets our leading man into all sorts of trouble. Sometimes, this person is more of a love interest (Lila, Hannah McKay) who turns evil, though on one other occasion (Lumen) she ended up being more of a “Big Good” before leaving in the blink of an eye.

So who could potentially be this sort of villain in the new season? It’s actually someone that we have not heard that much about just yet, which puts them in line with the Ice Truck Killer or Jordan Case in the “villains we didn’t see much of early on” department. According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, the villain Dexter and all of Miami Metro will be spending time trying to hunt down goes by the moniker of the Brain Surgeon … or at least this is what the police are calling him. His calling card at the moment seems to be carving out a part of his victims’ brains and keeping it as some sort of gross souvenir.

So will the slayer go up against this new villain? You better believe it, this is “Dexter” after all. The only question that we have right now is if anyone else is going to get in his way for the time being, and if there is anyone hunting him down, since suspicion is going to loom large following the death of Maria LaGuerta.
