‘Best Ink’ finale review: Was Teresa Sharpe, DJ Tambe, Jerod Ray season 2 winner?

Best InkOn Wednesday night’s “Best Ink” finale, we had quite a variety of challenges: There were tattoos, celebrities, tons of praise heaped on the finalists, and some beautiful art. If you were going to pick a final three, it’s pretty hard to say that there was a better one than Teresa Sharpe, DJ Tambe, and Jerod Ray. All three were pretty strong throughout the season, and while DJ and Teresa were the clear favorites, Jerod was just likable in that “tattoo nerd” sort of way that made you want to see him succeed.

Unfortunately for Jerod, he did not even make it long enough to take part in the last part of the episode. He was eliminated at right around the halfway point, which left us with a showdown between two people that just about everyone clearly wanted to see compete head-to-head since the very beginning.

Personally, we’ve said all along that the edit seemed to favor Teresa, and the show would probably love to have a winner like her who is not only talented, but also likable.

So were we right? The answer was a resounding yes. While DJ would have been an awesome winner, Teresa just seemed right for this season considering her near-dominant performance throughout. She wins the cash and the magazine feature, but we have a feeling that DJ is going to be pretty successful even without the title. More than anything else, the two got invaluable exposure as awesome artists all season long, and that should get them mountains of business moving forward.
