‘The Leftovers’: Justin Theroux to star in HBO series from ‘Lost’s’ Damon Lindelof

HBOFor those of you who are still major “Lost” despite the controversial ending to the series you are no doubt as excited as we are to see what Damon Lindelof does in his return to series television. We have some more news breaking when it comes to the showrunner’s new HBO project “The Leftovers,” at least when it comes to casting for the pilot.

According to Deadline, Justin Theroux, who has a lengthy HBO resume that includes story arcs on “Sex and the City” as well as “Six Feet Under,” has signed on to play the part of Kevin Garvey, a Chief of Police who is among the many people left back on earth after a rapture took place. The entire series is about what happened to these people, and how the world will move on now that the believers are gone.

Theroux is an interesting, but also exciting choice for the part and when it comes to the actor himself, we’re sure that he is thrilled to be in the news for something other than his relationship with Jennifer Aniston. There is no guarantee that this pilot will make it to air, but we have to consider it a favorite for at least the time being, if for no other reason than the big name attached to it in Lindelof, and the sort of story that should appeal to a wide number of people, especially since religion has proven time and time again to be a major sell to networks.

What’s your take on the casting of Theroux, and are you excited to see what this project could end up being, if ordered? As always, we want to hear some of your thoughts below! Meanwhile, be sure to visit the link here if you want to find out even more news when it comes to this series.
