‘Game of Thrones’ season 3: A new focus on Meera Reed

MeeraAs we near the final two episodes of “Game of Thrones” season 3, it is understandable that there are going to be some big moments that cause people to talk. Will Meera Reed contribute to this in any way? We don’t want to give anything major away, but her storyline alongside her brother Jojen and Bran Stark is going to get interesting (finally), even if most of this season has been spent for them wandering through the countryside not doing much of anything.

Of course, there are some changes that are readily apparent between this version of Meera, and the version of the character that George R.R. Martin first crafted in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. So what are some of them? We’ll let Ellie Kendrick explain for herself as a part of a brand-new interview with The Independent:

“Interestingly, in the book my character is supposed to have a trident and a net and catch frogs. So when I first found out I got the part I was like ‘oh my god, this is going to be so hard’. But they changed it now, so that I shoot a bow and arrow which is pretty cool. Not quite a trident but pretty damn cool. I got a couple of lessons in archery from a guy who works on Game of Thrones in the weapons tent, so that was a lot of fun.”

Kendrick also says that she would like to keep doing “Game of Thrones” five years from now, and while we’d like to say that this is some sort of sign that her character is sticking around for a while, she’s really saying this out of personal preference much more so than anything else.

What do you want to see happen with the Reed and Bran moving forward to the end of “Game of Thrones” season 3? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! Also, be sure to head on over to the link here if you want to read some more news pertaining to season 4 casting.
