‘Necessary Roughness’ season 3: First look at John Stamos, David Anders

Necessary RoughnessFor its third season, “Necessary Roughness” is getting a makeover. Rather than just focusing on the New York Hawks for the third straight year, there is going to be at least a small sort of change. Dr. Dani is going to be spending quite a bit of time at a new sports agency, and the official cast photo to the left shows perfectly some of the new faces that are going to be stopping by.

The two new faces that are most prominent should be rather familiar to sports fans already. It’s actually rather interesting that John Stamos, playing the high-profile head of an agency, has a spot positioned in front of Callie Thorne’s character almost as a way to show him off. Meanwhile, David Anders (“Once Upon a Time,” “The Vampire Diaries”) does a very great job here of looking as evil / misunderstood as he does in the vast majority of his roles. Dani will spend a lot of time working with these boys, and it will be interesting to see how that shapes her as a person.

As for the future of the series, the question now comes to whether or not some of these changes will amount to higher ratings. The show was on the bubble leading to this renewal, which suggests that this reboot was done in part to revitalize things. Here’s to hoping that this actually works.
