ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Finally, good news for Lanie / Esposito fans

You’ve asked about it and hopefully you’ve been pretty patient about it without starting to lose your mind a little bit. Now, we’re finally pleased to confirm that there is going to be more focus when it comes to the Lanie / Esposito relationship on “Castle” season 6.

Will there be steamy hookup scenes? We don’t want to go that far, mostly since that would be the equivalent to a car being started and then driving off a cliff going 100 miles an hour, but there will at least be movement. In an interview with TVLine, show creator Andrew W. Marlowe starts off by admitting that there was an intentional reason why Jon Huertas and Tamala Jones didn’t have much to do together during season 5, and much of that was so that there could be some better moments crafted for when there was time to include them:

“There is much more going on in that relationship than we have had time to show. There’s some great storytelling that we’ve talked about, but to give it the real breadth we want to, we need a bit more time. So we’re going to have some hallmarks next season on that front.”

This officially means that we are going to have a pair of big relationship stories moving forward, as there’s also (of course) going to be the continuation of that Castle / Beckett proposal story that may be a cause for insanity given the cliffhanger that happened during the finale. Meanwhile, we’d also like to see who Molly Quinn’s Alexis is supposedly seeing these days … just to throw that in there.
