‘American Idol’ season 13: No Kelly Clarkson as judge; what about Adam Lambert?

American IdolLet’s start this “American Idol” article with a generous dose of honesty. As much as we sit around here and talk about the possibility of us finding out the judging panel in the weeks ahead, it’s probably not going to be confirmed until September. That’s just how the world of this show works, since it benefits the stars to draw negotiations out as long as possible.

With that being said, we’re here today to write about one star who won’t be joining the panel moving forward. If you recall, a report surfaced earlier this week suggesting that a panel next season could consist of former contestants, with Kelly Clarkson being one of the favorites. The problem with this? A rep for the “People Like Us” singer tells The Hollywood Reporter that she will not be a judged on the show. She was previously a part of the ABC series “Duets,” but has said that it was too much of a burden on her schedule.

As for Adam Lambert, whose name was also mentioned in the original report, a source close to the singer says that he has not been contacted. With that being said, Adam has remained interested in the gig for some time, and would be a perfect addition given his honesty. We’re starting to feel as though there will be one or maybe two former Idol stars on the panel, with he or Jennifer Hudson serving as top candidates. (Clay Aiken is also in the mix.)

We are going to have more news on these judging rumors moving forward, but be aware that this is going to take quite a while before a decision is reached. If you want to see the single sales of champion Candice Glover and runner-up Kree Harrison, be sure to visit the link here.
