‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Meet the new Red (same as the old Red)

Meghan Ory, Once Upon a TimeFor those of you out there concerned in any way that Meghan Ory’s new job over at “Intelligence” means that she will no longer have a spot as Red on “Once Upon a Time,” there is no need at all to be concerned. Based on what the show’s executive producer is saying now, there are no plans at all for the woman behind the wolf to change at any point in the near future.

In a new post on his Twitter account in response to a fan question about the idea of recasting Ory’s role, largely since the show could want her around for longer than she will ultimately be available, Adam Horowitz confirmed that this is not going to happen. This is the same thing he said after there were rumors claiming that Sebastian Stan was going to be recast in the “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” spin-off show, and it is now unclear if he will be appearing in that project at all.

If there is one sliver lining for the producers, it is that the episode order for “Intelligence” is only 15 episodes, as opposed to the 22 that many series shoot for. Depending on how long the episode production period is, this could mean that Ory will have a little bit of time here and there in order to come back and film more scenes.

As for why she ever decided to leave in the first place, the simple answer is just that she was looking for a role with a little bit more to do, and the producers of “Once Upon a Time” had went in a different direction than what they had originally intended.

Do you think that keeping Red the same, even if Ory is not available to do a substantial amount of work on the show, is the best move? Be sure to check out some of our other coverage of the show, including the great casting debate concerning Peter Pan.
