‘American Idol’ finale review: Adam Lambert, Jessie J, Jennifer Lopez, and a winner
Do you love big moments? The “American Idol” finale on Thursday night did its best to stuff its entire show full of them. We had a tribute to Randy Jackson, performances of some of the other judges, Adam Lambert proving once again that he is one of the best duet partners you can ever hope for, and Angie Miller completely geeking out on stage. Jessie J. and Jennifer Lopez also came back near the end, just as a not-so-subtle reminder that she may be back as a judge.
Of course, it’s hard to really praise an “American Idol” finale 120% when there is so much madness going on, and so many things that we really don’t need that make the show go on and on. Do we need extended montages, Ford commercials in the middle of the show, and near-constant reminders that the girls were better than the guys, when the evidence really speaks for itself? Probably not.
In the end, this finale was really about a showdown between two extremely-talented women, who have to try and figure out what they are going to do moving forward in their careers. Kree Harrison and Candice Glover are each brilliant in their own rights, and either one of them would be a deserving winner. We thought that it was going to be Candice based solely on the quality of performances, but Kree was also fantastic, and had that whole underdog thing really going for her.
The winner for season 12 was … Candice! Now, of course, comes the waiting game to see what sort of career that she can have in the public eye.

Candice and Kree: both terrific singers. But, Angie Miller and Adam Lambert stole the finale show with that duet! (and the Miller/Jesse song was good, too)…I want to know why American Idol is allowing Candice and Kree’s post-show releases to be charted on iTunes, but preventing Angie Miller’s “You Set Me Free” release from being charted? What are they afraid of? Miller deserves better than she has gotten/is getting from AI…she is the reason many viewers hung on this season…too much manipulation by AI…shameful really.

What! Does the word Moron mean anything to you. Angie 2 duets were better than any other. Janell’s was also great. Check download sales on iTunes even though they screwed up her name and posting of You Set Me Free. Enough said.

IMO … ADAM & Angie’s duet was the HIGHLIGHT of the show … ADAM didn’t try to outsing or overshadow Angie … he graciously gave her the spotlight & the end result was PERFECTION. This came off as two Professionals complimenting each others Vocals Beautifully.
