Is Chris McNally leaving When Calls the Heart, Lucas after finale?
Take, for starters, the fact that it seemed like Lucas was potentially going to leave Hope Valley in the event that he won the election for Governor. Given that he and Elizabeth had also already chosen to end things romantically, it meant that he may not end up being around in the long-term. Of course, you can also say that Lucas could return to Hope Valley periodically even if he did win the election, and that there was still somewhat of a chance that the actor could stay on board in some capacity.
The biggest thing that we can say, at least for now, is that there was not any definite evidence going into the finale that we would be seeing McNally depart the show. He’s been around for the past several years and even beyond When Calls the Heart, he has a larger role within the Hallmark Channel family with him making appearances across a number of other shows.
If this was the final episode for Lucas, we simply wanted it to be a worthy send-off to this person we have come to know and love over the years.
