‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 finale spoilers: The Klaus / Caroline dilemma

When you have a pair of characters like Klaus and Caroline and a show like “The Vampire Diaries,” you are going to have avid fans. It’s inevitable. It’s basically the same thing as lining up kids in front of a mountain of candy, and not have them fight over what they want.

When it comes to these characters, we have a romance that is great in the whole “he’s a good-looking bad boy” sort of way. However, the negative is that he is a very bad boy. Not only has this vampire hybrid threatened Candice Accola’s character, but he’s killed people she loved and chased her real boyfriend Tyler out of Mystic Falls. How could she love him? The picture above sums it up: He leans in, and she stands still. To make things even more complicated, the backdoor pilot for “The Originals” also revealed that he is expecting a child with Hayley.

We’re not hear to offer you an opinion one way or another on the whole Klaroline dilemma. Instead, we merely want to be the one who shares what Julie Plec is saying on the matter, and how she plans on balancing out the relationship both in the finale for “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 and the spin-off ahead. “To be fair, there are plenty of people who hate the idea that she would ever look sideways at the guy that murdered her boyfriend’s mother and sent him running from town like a chicken — there’s definitely plenty of those people rooting against that twosome. It’s our second-most controversial love triangle, I suppose. But on behalf of those who love Klaus and Caroline together, they look at this pregnancy storyline and think that means ‘Oh, Klaus is going to go away and be a good dad and fall for the baby-mama and forget all about Caroline.’ No. Hell no.”

Be sure to remember that “The Originals” will shoot in Atlanta primarily so that there are possibilities for crossovers, so don’t necessarily take the spin-off as proof that the two will never see each other again after Thursday.
