‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 finale spoilers: Series boss on Ted, Robin plot
Last week on “How I Met Your Mother,” there was a moment that truly got some fans near the boiling point when it comes to Ted and Robin. At this point, everyone in the known world (including Ted, who is not actually real) wants to see him get over his ex. The truth of the matter is, life is not that easy. While this has to be without a doubt the most frustrating part of the show, who hasn’t bee in his shoes before when you are hung up over someone, partially because you have not been able to find the right person for you?
When it comes to Monday’s finale, let’s talk about the good and bad news. The rough news is that following a certain hand-holding moment in last week’s “Something Old,” those feelings are going to come back. However, show co-creator Carter Bays explains to TV Guide that there is hope when it comes to him finally being able to move on with his life:
“Ted’s decision comes on the heels of [that] pretty charged moment he shares with Robin in [last week’s] episode, although obviously those feelings have been building up for a while … I can’t say how and when he lets go of Robin — only that he does, obviously.”
One way in which Ted is clearly going to be able to move on? Meeting the future mother of his children! Bays promises that there are some cliffhangers for many characters at the end of the episode, but that is really all that he would say. We’re holding firm on our prediction, though that despite the teases that the “who is your mother?” question will be answered during the episode, we don’t see how this could happen until the end of the series.
What’s your take on Ted: Are you sympathetic towards him when it comes to Robin? Frustrated? Sound off in the comment box below!

Im not really frustrated with TedRobin’s feelings coming back up. After all, Ted gave up Victoria to still be friends with Robin. I think that will come into play in tonights episode. Regarding the last scene with Robin, I saw it as Ted being Robin’s Best Man marching her down the aisle. In a way that should give him closure on Robin.

I’m assuming his decision is to move out into that house in Westchester. I think that it is going to somewhat be him running away from the whole Robin/Barney situation. I am too frustrated, because I have always assumed that it would finally be over with at The Wedding. I think that there is a possibility that we could see The Mother (they have framed the opening and closing of the past few seasons with moments from the day of the wedding, Season 8 started with moments before he met The Mother, it could show us the next few seconds). Of course, if they simply just gave us her name, instead, I’d be satisfied.
