NBC’s ‘The Office’: John Krasinski sings karaoke to Katy Perry, is awesome (video)
In preparation for the series finale of “The Office” airing on NBC next week, one of the show’s biggest stars took to “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” in an effort to promote it, and remind everyone that he can be pretty darn hilarious in real life.
Ultimately, what makes this entire lip-sync battle between Fallon and John Krasinski all the more entertaining is simply that the man is completely committed to just about every song that he sang. Jim has always been the sort of straight-laced character on the show, and thus has been a casual observer to almost everything around him. However, on this case John really was the crazy. He did dance moves, sang Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” with the utmost of emotion, and then took off his jacket and gave Jimmy a sweet serenade to the Boyz II Men hit “I’ll Make Love To You.” The guys actually did a good job of making it appear as though we were witnessing some sort of stirring moment, even if in reality both of them were really struggling to keep much of a straight face.
This performance happened mere hours after reports started to hit the web that Fallon will not be receiving the $30 million makeover for his studio that was originally reported in order to launch “The Tonight Show” early next year. Instead, his current studio (once home to the original version of the show) will be refurbished for around $5 million.
What do you think about this performance, and do you believe that Krasinski could have some sort of career as a lip-sync entertainer after the show ends? Just in case you have not heard the news yet about the finale being expanded, you can do so over at the link here.
