‘American Idol’ song spoilers: Kree Harrison, Angie Miller take on modern hits

American IdolAs you know already, there are two themes that “American Idol” will be rocking out on Wednesday night’s show, whether it be old favorites or new hits currently tearing up the charts. This is something that we can get behind, mostly because it provides opportunities to actually hear songs that have never been heard before on the show.

With that in mind, we’re not so interested as to what the old songs will be so much as we are the new ones. There is a list of song spoilers going around on Twitter, and while the following choices are not confirmed, the source here is fairly reliable.

Amber Holcomb, “Just Give Me A Reason” by Pink & Nate Ruess – A good choice, mostly because it comes out of left field and could bring something different out in Amber’s voice. The only unfortunate thing is that this is yet another ballad from a woman who has done quite a few of them already. What we’re most confused about is that this song is supposed to be a duet.

Angie Miller, “Diamonds” – This was very smart for Angie to cover some songs before the live shows began, and then try to perform them on the show. This means that she is already pleasing her fanbase, and if her version of the song on the show sounds anything like the cover below, we assume a good many people will be happy.

Candice Glover, “When I Was Your Man” – A great Bruno Mars song, and one that Candice can do some pretty spectacular things with … at least so long as the judges give her credit for them this time around.

Kree Harrison, “See You Again” – It’s not our favorite song in the world, mostly because we’ve always fancied Kree as more of a folk country singer than Carrie Underwood, but it’s a very smart choice. The country community will get behind this, and help to carry her into the top 3.

Do you dig these song choices? If you want to see where we’ve ranked the contestants going into this show, you can do so over at the link here.
