‘Beauty and the Beast’ finale spoilers: First look at ‘Never Turn Back’

Beauty and the BeastFirst, let’s start off with some continued celebration of the news that “Beauty and the Beast” is coming back for a second season. It is nice to be able to go into the finale without the concern that the show may get canceled before it has an opportunity to really wrap up the story, and this episode can thus be enjoyed much more than it otherwise would have been. (If there was a chance that it was going to be canceled, we have a feeling that there would be plenty of people out there who would watch it as a sniveling mess.)

This episode airing on May 16 is going to be titled “Never Turn Back,” and it suggests, at least based on the official synopsis below, that there are going to be some major surprises in store for Cat as her back-story is explored a little bit more than it has been to date:

“When secrets about Cat’s (Kristin Kreuk) family are revealed, it will change everything Cat knew about her past. Vincent (Jay Ryan) finds himself staring his demise in the face; while Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) takes drastic measures [to] get some answers.”

What is a little bit interesting to us about this synopsis, compared to some of the others released by the network over the years, is that there are obviously still some pretty major story nuggets that the show is trying to hide. After all, they have a tendency more often than not to give us a little bit more to look forward to than this, which is really just a few tiny pieces of story hints.
