‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6, episode 21 preview: Sheldon’s DVR drama

Big Bang TheoryOn Thursday night’s “The Big Bang Theory,” the show is being brave enough to go to a place that typically makes most networks and studios cower in fear: They are acknowledging that DVR players exist, and that people out there actually use them. (Granted, it’s also probably easy to do this when your show tops a 5.0 in the 18-49 demographic on most nights.)

The scene below is really rather simple, as we see Sheldon sit down, upset about the fact that someone has been watching “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” using his recording system, which makes him angry enough to go into a tirade about Chinese hackers. There’s no real substance to the video at all, but we suspect that it is leading somehow to the real point which is Sheldon learning that one of his favorite shows has been canceled.

We really hope that this is not exactly the way this story plays out, mostly because it feels unrealistic that Sheldon would find out that something he obsesses over is canceled thanks to his DVR, since he would be the kind to visit forums, attend conventions, and even turn on his Google Alerts for it. Nonetheless, it’s probably sure to be a pretty epic freakout that comes out of it, regardless of how Sheldon ends up learning the truth.

Sadly, the video below is just for viewers in the United States, but we’ll still have some more video footage in the future for you international readers to enjoy.  Are you excited to see this episode play out?
