Fire Country season 1 episode 17: Is Jake the serial arsonist?
If you have been reading here for a good while, then you know that some of our thoughts on all of this are fairly clear: We’re pretty confident already that Jake is innocent. Why? It would just be too much of a gut-punch to be thinking about this for most of the hiatus, only to get metaphorically pied in the face in the end.
With all of this being considered, the larger question that we’ve got at the moment is simply how we’re going to see Jake get out of this bind! It’s not going to be easy, and we tend to think that a big piece of the puzzle is going to be relying on Bode and some others for help clearing his name.
In the end, we have to expect that there is more going on with Jake behind the scenes than anyone knows … and there are other secrets that could be revealed.
What happened?
Well, Jake was innocent of being the arsonist — he had started a fire when he was 11 years old and for whatever reason, he was being judged as an adult for something that happened many years ago. It was a hard thing for him to handle, but we also understood why it happened.
As it turned out, Jake starting a fire when he was 11 was nothing more than a cry for help — he was worried about being abandoned by his father. It wasn’t because he enjoyed starting fires.
As for who was responsible for the fires, it was Collin — who actually has a different real name in Alex.
