‘Glee’ season 4 finale spoilers: A Darren Criss – Chris Colfer shocker!

Do you want to go into the upcoming season 4 finale of “Glee” completely unspoiled? If so, you probably want to run away from this article right about now. Otherwise, keep going to read what are some pretty juicy details about a major part of the story coming up.

According to a new report from E! News, Oscar-winning actress Patty Duke along with “Family Ties” star Meredith Baxter have each signed on to appear in the last episode of the season, and for a role that is going to be extremely important to both Kurt and Blaine: mentors for the young couple as they try to adapt to being gay in the real world.

Notice how we say “couple”? While we cannot confirm 100% that the two parties are going to be back together, there is going to be a major development. Darren Criss’ character meets Duke, a jewelry salesperson, while shopping for an engagement ring for Chris Colfer’s NYADA student. The two strike up a good rapport, and we know that thanks to this, Duke and Baxter will also be recurring in at least the early portion of season 5.

So we don’t know if Kurt is going to say “yes” or if Blaine is even going to buy the ring, but what could be interesting is if these two new characters are some sort of signal of “Glee” moving even more to the Big Apple in the new year. We have to imagine that one of the things being negotiated at the moment between Fox and the studio is the show’s massive cast and budget, and we would not be surprised if the show finally went smaller in scale.
