‘Game of Thrones’ season 3: Reflection before episode 3 (video)

CatelynBefore we get to Sunday night’s new “Game of Thrones” season 3 episode, why not take a look back on some of the notable things that unfolded during the second episode of the year last Sunday? In the new video below from the show’s official YouTube channel, you get some fantastic insight from the show’s executive producers in David Benioff and D.B. Weiss about what specific scenes mean, and how many of the characters are thinking and feeling about the circumstances facing them at present.

Specifically, there are three separate storylines looked at extensively in this video:

1. The decimated scene at Winterfell, which could possibly lead to some of Robb’s army questioning him. After all, how good is he if he cannot even protect his own home? Not only that, but you see some of the guilt on Catelyn Stark’s face as she feels a certain amount of guilt over the war between the Starks and Lannisters even starting.

2. Theon’s torture scene, and how confusing it is for him given that he really does not have any idea what he is being asked. While this character is far from a great person, there’s something about this scene that still makes you almost want to root for him.

3. Arya’s journey, and how significant of an impact the revelation that she is a Stark from those near her will have on her goals moving forward. She’s not that far from her mother or brother geographically, but trying to get to them at this point will become a pretty substantial problem.
