Lindsay Lohan plays nice in ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ interview

Late ShowAs reported recently, Lindsay Lohan made the rather brave move on Tuesday in deciding to appear on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” a place that has not always been consistently friendly to celebrities in the past. What’s the reason for that? Well, let’s just say that Dave never really has an interest in being sensitive to any of his guests. Just ask Paris Hilton following her time in prison, or Justin Bieber pretty much anytime he ever appears on the show.

In the snippet released by CBS, it’s clear first and foremost that Lohan is a little peeved that Letterman brings up her upcoming stint in rehab, making sure that the audience knows that none of this was discussed in the pre-interview, probably because Dave is savvy enough to know that Lindsay (or any guest, for that matter) is not going to want to look terrible on TV by shutting down and refusing to answer his questions.

While Letterman played along at first when Dave asked her if she was supposed to be in rehab rather than appearing on his show, she got a bit more serious when talking about why she is grateful for a three-month rehab stint that she is getting set to do following a sentence over a car accident that occurred last year:

“I’m the happiest when I’m working and the healthiest, and I think [going to rehab] is an opportunity for me to, you know, focus on what I love in life.  And I don’t think it’s a bad thing.  I think it’s a blessing… and not a curse.”

It’s still not exactly clear what Lohan is going to rehab for, but things did become a little bit funny again when she referred to Letterman as “Dr. Phil” for trying to understand the inner workings of her mind.

Do you think doing this interview is going to help or hurt Lindsay? The controversial actress will be appearing next on Thursday’s “Anger Management,” and you can watch a promo for that over at the link here.
