ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2 finale spoilers: The title is…
Are you ready to get involved in a massive dogpile of “Revenge” speculation? If so, then continue reading; otherwise, stop after the following line: the official title for the season 2 finale (per SpoilerTV) is going to be “Truth,” part 1 and part 2. As you may remember, the finale is going to air over the course of two hours.
So what in the world does this mean? The basic way to understand it is pretty simple: someone is going to get found out, and there will be enormous consequences as a result. The obvious reading of this title is that a certain someone, possibly even Emily Thorne, is going to be exposed for the person she truly is, and if that happens, it would certainly raise the stakes for a potential season 3 of the show.
At the moment, we do wonder whether or not showrunner Mike Kelley sits around and wonders just how to raise the stakes of the show. This is clearly something that he struggled with during the first half of the year, as we had several stories (including the arrival of Emily’s own mother) that did not really go in the place in which many fans would have liked. In addition to that, it really didn’t feel like that much happened over the course of the first half of the season to push the story forward in a significant way.
However, Amanda’s death has caused some of Emily’s walls to come tumbling down. She’s clearly lost a close friend and dear confidante, and to make matters worse, the man in town now in Eli is her old foster brother, and has the knowledge as to who she really is.
What do you think about the title, and do you suspect that it is something that is will be very Emily-centric? If you want to see the official series finale dates for some other ABC shows, you can do so over here.
