‘Supernatural’ season 8 spoilers: What does this title mean?
We are slowly and surely working ourselves near the end of “Supernatural” season 8, and while the show has certainly handed to us a number of interesting episode titles in the past (“A Little Slice of Kevin,” “Man’s Best Friend with Benefits,” LARP and the Real Girl”), this one has to be ranked pretty high on the list of the “we’re really trying to be cheeky” ones.
We’re hearing at the moment that the 22nd episode of the season is entitled something that fans of just about any series often dread: “Clip Show.” Is there any way in the world that this is actually going to be a clip show, where we sit back and look at assorted highlights of the Winchesters’ journey so far? Don’t count on it. There’s no way in the world that the producers would name an episode this and have it be an actual clip show, knowing full well that it would keep people from tuning in.
Instead, we’ve assembled a list of a few other possibilities as to what this title could mean.
1. A show about angels have their wings clipped.
2. An evil barber with supernatural powers being on the loose.
3. A fake clip show a la “Community,” where we see the cast doing some ridiculous things that we would have never imagined them taking part in.
Okay, so out of these three, option #1 is probably the only one that could actually happen; ultimately, we suspect that this episode will really be about something that is currently unknown to us as viewers.

Just because he loses his grace doesn’t mean he’d go back to being Jimmy … once Pamela hypnotised Anna and when she woke she remembered she was an angel and it seemed like her body was already a vessel with an angel inside but she didn’t know yet. She was even able to hear angel radio and move things before she really knew so Cas losing his grace doesn’t mean he’ll stop being Cas, just Cas lite so to speak.
Ad to those of that don’t want Cas hanging out with the boys, well, he’s going o be around more next season so get used to it. I’m suremit won’t be every episode as he wasn’t before when he was a regular but it will be more. It won’t kill the show, unless you’re so irked about it that you stop watching, but that seems like a waste of the last 8 years to me. If they’d decided to kill him off I would have kept watching, after I stopped crying of course, because I love the show … even parts of season 7 (yikes)! I’m not a huge fan of Benny but still watch those episodes because maybe I’ll end up liking him and I’d hate to miss something important because of it. I’m not really even sure why I really don’t like him that much … he got Dean out of Purgatory but tried to get Dean to ditch Cas and has just been a source of ire between the boys so maybe that’s why.

I like Chaya’s idea. Cas cuts out his own grace. But would he return to his wife Amelia and daughter Claire. They’ve likely moved on. It would an interesting turn of events. With all that Jimmy Novak has seen he could be a raving lunatic or a drooling mess. We saw the toll Raphael took on his human vessel. It left the poor guy a drooling mess in a wheelchair.

I predict a meta episode, where Sam and Dean are thrown back into their own past events throughout the show, Back to the Future style.

NO to Cas becoming human and riding with the boys. That would kill the show.

I heard an interesting theory: When Cass realizes that he is being controlled by Naomi, who we can only assume has some nefarious intentions and nothing good planned for Sam & Dean, he is left with a choice: 1. Remain an angel, be controlled by heaven and Naomi, and betray his only friends or 2. Rebel against heaven, cut out his own grace (maybe ‘clip his wings’) and stick with the brothers.
I’m thinking this is a possibility for the finale with Cass becoming human, joining Sam and Dean and finally achieving his long-time goal of freedom – #teamfreewill
I’m wondering how this will all play into the trials and closing the gates of hell (and maybe also heaven if that’s Crowley’s angle?)
Cass might have a lot of intel that might be revealed if and when he becomes human.

Castiel becoming human would explain why he is a series regular next season. he wouldn’t be able to just fly off and would have to stay with the boys. He did say he wanted to be a hunter.

Misha *supposedly* said at a con that he thought that Castiel would probably fall. Seems like a rather tongue-in-cheek title for something so drastic happening. Though I think Castiel is supposed to be in ep 22…

maybe Castiel falling from grace? “clipping” his wings?
