‘Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites’ preview: Tribal council … at a challenge

26 seasons into “Survivor,” you would literally think that you have seen everything that the show can possibly throw at you. Then, they somehow manage to pull something off that is a complete and total first for the show, and it makes you curious as to what caused it.

Basically, Jeff Probst suggests in the promo below that rather than having a normal tribal council, they are instead going to do one “right now” at what appears to be one of the challenges. What is the reason for this? It’s ultimately not that hard to put two and a two together, and to ultimately figure out here that this probably involves Brandon Hantz in some way. He and Phillip Sheppard have been feuding like nobody’s business as of late, and you could already see in an earlier promo that Brandon is screaming at him while Phillip is storming off into the business. We thought seeing these two on the same tribe together would be awkward and hilarious; instead, it’s turning out to be a little bit scary.

If this instant tribal council involves the Favorites, there are a few possibilities that we could see happening here:

1. Brandon does something so horrible that he needs to be automatically taken out of the game.

2. The Favorites show up to an immunity challenge, announce that they are throwing it, and they hold tribal council on the spot rather than going through the motions. In order for a tribe to give up immunity, every single person must agree to go to Tribal Council. (We learned this on “One World.”)

3. Someone gets hurt, and tell Jeff they’d like to still be voted out of the game rather than leaving via the medical team.

Ultimately, the creepy sort of back rub Probst is giving Brandon suggests that he is front and center in just about anything that is going on.
