‘Supernatural’ season 8 spoilers: Are we looking at a Castiel escape?
As we near the end of “Supernatural” season 8, there are going to be a number of questions worth asking, including whether or not Sam and Dean are going to be able to ship all demons straight back to hell, and also whether or not Castiel is going to break free of the hold that Naomi seemingly has on him.
While the following episode title that we have to share is not necessarily related to Misha Collins’ character at all, it could very well be interpreted to be related to his plight: “The Great Escapist.” Could he be escaping from his hold finally? We are currently believing this to be the most-likely possibility thanks largely to one reason: timing. This is the 21st installment of the season, and we would be shocked to see Jeremy Carver suddenly put out some sort of standalone episode about escape artists so close to the finale. This is usually the time of the year when the larger storylines really start going strong, and even if Cas is not a major player in this story, someone related to the larger plot will most likely be.
With the news already announced that “Supernatural” will return for its ninth season, and that Collins has been promoted to a series regular, we like to imagine that this episode could be the series’ way of how Castiel breaks free from his current situation, and re-enters a place in which he can better actually help the Winchesters do what they do best.
In case you did not hear, Cas will return for the show’s next new episode “Goodbye, Stranger” airing on March 20. If you want to see more of that, you can do so by hitting up the story over at the link here.
