‘Lost Girl’ picked up for season 4; plus, check out ‘Contiuum’ season 2 teaser
We’ve got some breaking news coming in here courtesy of a pair of popular Canadian sci-fi series, and this should apply both to fans watching on Showcase as well as on Syfy in the United States.
First, the big news was announced Thursday that the popular “Lost Girl” has been picked up for a fourth season on both networks, meaning that Bo’s adventures are set to continue for a while longer. This show has fared particularly well in both countries, with it quickly becoming one of Syfy’s most-successful imports yet in total viewers along with the 18-49 demographic. This fourth season will premiere in late 2013 in Canada, and presumably early 2014 in the United States.
As for “Continuum,” the futuristic crime series has just released its new teaser for season 2, which premieres on Showcase April 21. This clip below does not really show off much of anything when it comes to the story for the new collection of episodes, but it does have the following (rather ominous line) in it:
“A pebble tossed from the beach can become a tsunami on the other side of the world.”
Despite being loved by many critics and commercially successful in Canada, “Continuum” has failed to find the same sort of fervent following in America as “Lost Girl.” Its future on Syfy is at the moment a little bit more unclear, but if picked up it is likely the network will once again air the show several months after the fact in a block with some of their other popular original series.
While none of this news makes up for Syfy canceling “Alphas,” it is at least a pleasure to see a few quality series continuing to receive some support on their networks.
Which of these shows are you more excited for? Be sure to share more of your thoughts below!
