‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Sean Lowe ‘blindsided’; Catherine Giudici says no
You have to either love or loathe the folks over at ABC’s marketing department. Why? They are masters at creating drama even where there is none. For yet another example of this, just take a look at the new promo they have crafted for Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelor.”
The first issue that is brought up and blown out of proportion here is Catherine Giudici saying that there is “no way” that she would ever do what is implicated with the overnight date card. This is admirable from the standpoint of her sticking to her beliefs, but at the same time this is hardly revolutionary. Sean Lowe himself hinted before the season that he was not going to be using overnight dates in the same way as most other guys have on the show over the years, which is probably a good thing given his “born-again virgin” status. Therefore, Catherine’s comment is ultimately a moot point, and we really don’t expect the lack of an overnight date this season to keep future contestants from dipping their toes in the water.
As for Sean saying at the end that he was “blindsided” as a limousine drives away, we imagine that it is not for a reason as dramatic as someone having a secret boyfriend or is living a double life as an assassin. If it was for something that was hugely shocking, the show would tease a little more of it. Probably, what we are looking at here is Sean getting an unexpected reaction from someone he sent home, which we personally find funny since he can hardly dictate how someone whose heart he just broke will react.
We’ll of course have more coverage leading up to Monday’s episode, and this will be followed immediately by a full review. In case you missed them, be sure to also check out our “Bachelor” contestant rankings over at the link here.
