‘Suits’ season 3 spoilers: Creator Aaron Korsh talks what’s next for Mike, Rachel

We are going to be waiting for several months for “Suits” to return for its third season, but in that time we are left with quite a few questions. Are Mike and Rachel actually going to work out a relationship? Will Harvey eventually let Mike into the fold? What happens now with the merger? There is plenty to discuss right now, and while show creator Aaron Korsh is staying mum on some of the details, but it does at least sound as though some of the groundwork is being laid already on the new episodes.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in a post-mortem of the finale, Korsh explained the future of Mike and Rachel, along with just how much of a time jump that there will probably end up being between seasons two and three:

“We’re thinking that happened on a Friday night, and we’re gonna come back on Sunday night. It’s not locked in stone yet, because I haven’t finished writing it. It starts with them dealing with the fact that they slept together and she knows his secret and deciding what they’re gonna do about that moving forward. It’s one thing to have accepted it in a heat of passion, it’s another thing if she’ll accept it moving forward. It’s not dissimilar to Harvey and Jessica’s relationship and Harvey and Mike’s relationship: They’ve all undergone some sort of betrayal of the underlying agreement that they had.”

Korsh also promised that the relationship between Harvey and Jessica following the merger (which will still push forward) will play a major role throughout the third season, and after hearing Scottie talk about him during this season, we are actually going to meet Harvey’s brother and possibly his mother at some point.
