‘The X Factor’ USA notes: New Carly Rose Sonenclar – Fifth Harmony videos
With both Carly Rose Sonenclar and Fifth Harmony in Los Angeles for the week, “X Factor” USA fans are in for quite a treat. Not only are both acts in the process of recording some music in the studio, but they each have taken some time out to do a little bit of press about their time on the show along with what is coming up next for them.
We begin with Carly, who taped an interview with Radio Disney a little earlier in the week that was really pretty far-reaching. She discussed her history in singing, working with Britney Spears, and some of the questions fans ask her now that she has been through the experience. We actually really enjoy this interview, since the DJs actually ask some good questions here and allow the young singer to actually showcase her personality and sense of humor. There’s sadly no real talk about a record deal, but she did say that she will continue to release more covers on YouTube until she has some recorded material that she is ready to share.

As for Fifth Harmony, the ladies spoke to Latina Magazine in what was a pretty interesting chat, mostly because the interviewer and band member AllyBrooke Hernandez actually grew up together. This is also an entertaining listen, mostly because we get to hear Dinah Jane’s perception of a romantic date and how Camila loves “really brown” French fries.
For those of you who love Demi Lovato, there are also a few seconds in here of Demi singing “Give You Heart a Break” while at The Grove recently.

Dan…..I never disagreed that Carly is not talented , but how many talented people are there in the music business that have never made it . By the way don’t say things about intelligence when you can’t even add , Carly doesn’t even have 2 times the followers so 3 to 4 times is impossible .

Taz….your comments weren’t any more intelligent. What it takes in the music world is talent, which Carly clearly has. More importantly, it takes fans and she’s already garnered three to four times the number of fans than any of the contestants from XFactor world wide. Oh and some pretty big names think she’s able to sell records now, people like Simon Cowell, LA Reid, Brittney Spears, Demi Lovato, Will.I.am perhaps you’ve heard of them? They happen to carry a little more weight and knowledge of the music industry than any of us. But we’ll just have to wait and see. She has more vocal talent than any of them, she’s cute, grounded and very marketable.

I’m so happy that Deborah and Alycia are such experts in the music industry . So if Carly has been in big time show’s why has no one heard about her till X Factor and if she has been in really big show’s she should not been on X Factor . No one never said Carly wasn’t talented , but in music you need more to make it big then just talent or being cute , I’m happy that both of you could come up with such intelligent coments .

celticwspice5harmonizer….Syco Records is not a management company that artists pay a fee to. Syco Records is a London Record Label owned jointly by Simon and Sony. Most of their footprint covers the UK so when signing an artist in the US they partner with a larger label that has a bigger presence in the US, makes it easier for marketing, distribution, recording, etc…..that’s why E3, Tate and 5H all have a major record label that’s partnered with Syco.

Firstly I’m sorry but the truth is Fifth Harmony will flop. Sure they’re cute girls with great voices who have had one or two good moments on stage but they have no chemistry whatsoever. Offstage they may be friends but onstage they have no chemistry whatsoever. Plus Lauren seems like too much of a diva. There will be conflicts because she’ll try to be the frontwoman whilst powerhouse Dinah will be in the background. When I see them onstage there’s no chemistry that’s just the truth. The chemistry is evident from the very first moment a group’s put together. I mean look at One Direction, Little Mix and The Collective from X factor Australia. Honestly dunno what LA Reid was thinking when he cosigned them.
Secondly, Simon’s certainly spending big money on Emblem3 with the backing of Columbia. Getting Savan Kotecha, the Madden Brothers, Jack Antonoff, Ryan Tedder, etc would definitely cost a lot of money. A-list writers/producers barely ever work with artists that are fresh from a reality show. But they do have great chemistry, vibe and west-coast look. I think they’ll be the Hanson of this boyband era.They’ll be big for a while but not Backstreet Boys/Nsync big.
Thirdly, Carly is the only one that’ll last. She has an absolutely phenomenal support team. To get the backing of CAA is amazing. I think she’ll probably sign to Epic or RCA records jointly with Syco. I think LA Reid can make her a superstar all over the world for many years given his track record with people from a young age (Bieber, Rihanna, Usher, TLC, Pink, Avril, etc). especially since he won’t be on x factor anymore he has the time. She’ll be the only one that can reach the same sort of success that the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson have achieved and not flop after a few years.
Fourthly, I’d love to see Diamond and Lyric145 get signed soon. Also wasn’t there a rumour that RocNation signed Paige Thomas?

What makes you think that 5H has better chances with younger crowd than E3?
I personally am looking forward to both Carly and E3 music but could not care less about 5H. Only time will tell who will be successful.

Carly is good but will never make it in the music Industry , all she has is a great voice . Look back at Demi , Selena , Miley , and Hilary they all had great stage savy and comes off as a spoiled little brat . Biggest of all she has to remember she,s playing games with big people that can sweep her under the carpet and forget about her .
E3 are great showmen and singers but they will never make it with the younger crowd and is there any place for them with a older crowd because of the amount of bands out there alreadt, they kind of remind me of a new style Beach Boys .
Now for 5TH Harmony the big thing they have going for them is there age and families to keep them grounded , their has not been a girl band like them since the Cheetah Girls and look how long they made it . Girl bands of today all start on there own and there always is one power in the band that makes it and the rest just fade . 5TH Harmony have to remember they all need each other to make it , together I can see big things apart they will fade and as Simon said there is room for them in music . So good luck to all of them and onyl time will tell .

I find it very unlikely that syco would wait 70 days and sign her withou7t doing due diligence to have a producer lined up. This has been a very public waiting period and they would have a big public relations problem if this did not work in carly’s benefit. I read she has fans in over 100 countries and over 100 million you tube hits. Plus it would look horrible to screw over a 13 year old girl.

Carly said on an Access Hollywood website that Syco has signed her and that they are deciding which label would produce her album. Why would Access Hollywood post this if it was not true. What article are you talking about

Just to be clear, the article says that there’s no record deal for Carly yet. Syco and other agencies are managing firms to which a fee is paid by the artist under a contract. The big deal is to find a producer to bear the record/event production costs, unless the artists themselves (like Lyric 145) pay for it, at a lower rate. Only Tate was awarded a $5mi recording contract, and later E3 and 5H were signed by Columbia and Epic Records, respectively.

Carly is singed I am so happy I am crying. This has been a bumpy couple of months. I am glad her parents did not rush into anything and are being careful about her choices. CAA is very respected. She is in good hands. CONGRATS CARLY

Anon, I’m sure she knows what the damn rules are. After all she was signed not only to syco (they are just finding the other label to partner with) but she was signed to CAA talent agency (because she wants to act). The bottom line is she was SIGNED. They wouldn’t have signed her if they were worried about child labor laws.

I have noo idea what Keaton saw in Lauren jaregui. She has pretty eyes but she looks like amy winehouse. Ew. E3 has a bigger fan base than fifth harmony. They’ve been working with big names in music like ryan tedder and good charlotte. Fifth harmony has jus been working with x factor vocal coaches. LOL

@trisha I’ve got your idea of a legitimate all-perfect-beautiful-American-talented girl group (if you like) consisting, for instance, by XF2’s Tara Simon, CeCe Frey, Julia Bullock, Sophie Tweed-Simons and Jillian Jensen. They all fill these requirements, but couldn’t survive much time without eating each other alive!.

E3 will outsell 5H. Booty pop madness…uuuuhhh..did you mean FLOP?! Why does camilla act like she’s 5 years old? We are the same age and she acts insane. E3 was signed first, they r releasing material this summer and SOLD OUT CONCERTS. LA Reid called them fifth unison we didn’t make up that term.

BIG NEWS! Carly’s recording option was picked up by Simon Cowell’s label Syco Records now they just have to figure out which big label to partner with….my guess will be Epic/LA Reid. So for all of you out there who, for some reason doubted it, it is official!

Carly is now signed to CAA (creative arts agency) one of the largest talent agencies in the world who represent artists like Britney Spears, Katy Perry. Miley Cyrus etc. She will sign with a major recording label. It just hasn’t been officially announced. If she waits out her 90 day clause without signing with Syco Music, then I’d expect Disney/Hollywood Records to be the front runners. There is no doubt she will be signed at this point.

Syco has picked up Carly’s option according to her at about 4:14. She still has to be placed with a an actual US label but I think this is as good as done hopefully :)

Yeah somehow I think fifth unison won’t sell mainly becuz they have three latinas in the group. Latin girl groups don’t sell that well in the american market. Just ask the countless groups that tried but failed with only one hit song. Anyone with a brain knows girl groups aren’t successful in america unless you are a black girl group. Even then girl groups last less than 4 years. Which explains why fifth harmony will get their album out by summer before people forget who they are. And does anyone notice that Lauren and Dinah don’t like each other? They never tweet each other. Lauren and Dinah post pics on instagram with other members of the group but they never take a pic together unless its a group picture. Lauren will be the reason 5th harmony breaks up. Mark my words. Anyways Emblem 3 will be bigger than 5th unison. No one cares about new girl groups cuz destiny child is back so is En vogue and salt n peppa

I absolutely love the 5H girls. They are so enjoyable to watch and have major talent. I know everyone is still putting their money on Carly and E3 but I honestly believe these girls will be the X Factor season 2 breakout stars. Mark my words.

Carly doesn’t have to be promoting anything to go on stuff if they want her on. She has a decent resume with Broadway, Electric company and X factor under her belt. At this stage of her career she needs to put herself out there keeping the fans interested. As for signing with Simon, well Diamond and Carly are maybe both signing with labels not Syco related and that is why they are already recording with named people while there is no mention of a label. They have to wait until around April to sign with someone not Simon unless he releases them.

I listened to that show for 2 hours. Radio disney dragged on a 15 minute interview for two hours. And I listened for nothing because Carly didn’t reveal new information. She didn’t even announce anything. You go on shows to promote something but Carly didn’t promote anything. I thought she was going to tell us that she is signed.

I know that Carly is writing new music in L.A. but that doesn’t mean she’ll get signed by Simon’s label. Diamond White has been writing songs with the same people Carly is working with and she’s not signed to a label. I am really surprised Carly is not signed yet. Maybe Carly should move to L.A., she’s going to have to at some point.
