‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6, episode 17 review: The story of Raj

Big Bang TheoryRaj has long been a fan favorite on “The Big Bang Theory,” and for many years now he has gone completely and totally under-utilized in the romance department while so many other characters (whether it be Howard, Sheldon, or Leonard) all manage to have relationships that not only work out, but last for a long period of time.

Luckily, the show continued to bring us a story this week that was really all about what a man like this does when faced with rejection (in the form of Kate Micucci’s Kate crawling out of a window), and when he has an opportunity to get the woman who rejected him back. After and episode where he for a time refused to leave his apartment, Lucy eventually apologized and explained that she has some serious social problems, and thus is afraid to stretch beyond her comfort zone.

Sound familiar? It should. Lucy and Raj have a common bond, and this is something that the two will explore even more as they have a date moving forward on the show. We rather like Micucci’s character here, and the thought of Raj finding a troubled soul of his own. Then again, there is almost a part of us that wants to see the character still have to work very hard for this, mostly because everyone on this show has really grown rather lucky when it comes to getting their relationships and being happy. We do know that eventually all four of the main guys will probably be in a relationship, but we’re not quite sure that the producers and writers are going to have it so soon … though if they can do it while keeping things fresh and funny, we’re all for it.
