‘The X Factor’ USA: Carly Rose Sonenclar hits the studio in Los Angeles
Even though we have already brought you one “X Factor” USA story today courtesy of some rumors surrounding Khloe Kardashian’s future on the show, the following news is just too exciting to wait on: Carly Rose Sonenclar is not only out in Los Angeles today, but she is already working on some music!
This welcome news was actually confirmed by Carly’s mom, who wrote in a post on Twitter this week (via Carly Rose Online) that the teen phenom is already in the process of getting some songs together with a pair of writers who know a thing or two about this industry already:
“Just dropped @CarlyRoseMusic off at studio to write music with the incredible @tobygad and @AutumnBand. So blessed! #carlyrosenewmusic“
You may remember Autumn Rowe from her work behind the scenes on “The X Factor” this past season, but she is also a writer, singer, and producer in her own right. As for Toby Gad, this session comes just a week after he did some work with another act from this season in Emblem3, and he has also worked with such artists as the newly-pregnant Fergie, One Direction, Beyonce, and Alicia Keys. In other words, he’s got some experience helping out artists who have enormous fanbases, and who also have some pretty incredible voices.
The interesting thing is that this writing session is happening before Carly’s official record deal is even announced; while we know that there have been talks going on for quite a while now, we are still waiting for that press release saying that she has signed with someone. Even though this has not happened yet, though, the fact that she is already in the writing process suggests that there will be some news to announce soon.

Honestly, I liked Rachel a little better than Carly (except around the end of Season 1), but their singing voices are both amazing. Also Nancy B, Carly didn’t seem to come off mean or snobby. In fact, she seems really sweet and shy, especially in moments with her brother. Carly is a very great person all around, and she’s going to do good things in the future :)

Nancy, you come off as a negative jealous person. Carly is the best and she has the sweetest personality. she does charity work which puts her on the top. She is beautiful and deserves to be a star and she has already been signed with a record company.

Nancy B, there is a lot more to singing than how high you can sing. You don’t have to take my word for how great Carly is though, just read through the seemingly endless list of quotes from professionals who are successful in the music industry. Celine Dion and her husband/Manager Rene Angelil for example. Rene said Carly reminded him a lot of Celine when she was Carly’s age. And by the way……..who are you again?

I love this conversation, Nancy B really has no idea what she’s talking about. I can’t wait to see Carly’s record deal when it happens. I’m sure it’ll be much more than a 5 million dollar deal. That can be one reason they are waiting to announce a deal for her. It’s not like Carly or the record label to embarrass Tate before his first album is released by announcing a larger deal for Carly than what Tate “won” on XFactor.

If Carly was on X-factor Australia, she would of won with flying colours against all the other contestants over here for sure. (that’s just my opinion of course). I’ve never heard a 13year old sing the way Carly sings, wow .. she has Soul!

It’s always amusing to read comments from “pseudo experts” like Nancy B. They usually begin with , “I know what I’m talking about” and progress to a lot of useless techno jargon to show they have “special” knowledge no mere mortal could ever understand. Honestly? Spare us. When you earn a spot on XFactor, Idol or AGT, wow the judges every week, gain a worldwide fan base and give back to the world as much as Carly has…then…I might think you have something useful to say. Carly may be a major flop or she may be the phenom her fans say she is…only time will tell. I’m betting on the latter. …and I know what I’m talking about.

i agree with trevor and scott, carlys got a unique flavor and we dont really know how high notes shes able to hit, she hasnt sung any song for us so far thats required super high notes. who cares anyway? like scott said, higher notes doesnt mean better singer. thats like saying if person A jumps higher than person B, that makes person A the better basketball player. just stupid. nancy is clearly a hater and doesnt know what shes talkin about.

Does anybody think Carly could sing Janis Joplin type songs. They’re rock., soul and Jazz? And I mean differently / better then Janis. And I love Janis but I think Carly would sing them better and without her voice cracking like Janis. Janis really abused her voice and body with drugs and alcohol.

Scott I agree with you 100%. Carly has soul. Her voice is unique and amazing. She doesn’t need to or want to sound like other artists. she has her own style and sound. Thats why i love her so much. she makes evey song better and she makes them her own. She is going to be a super star.

Nancy B. you actually don’t know what your saying, Just because a singer can hit high notes doesn’t mean their a great singer. You are right about one thing though, she’s not pop material her voice has far too much soul to settle on just doing pop. LA Reid said it, Simon Cowell said it, as did Will.i.am, Demi, Brittney oh and the nearly million fans she’s already captured in the short time she was on TV. She will be signed that’s a guarantee and will have the most success of any of the X Factor contestants.

trevor i agree! carly isnt trying to sing like celine or mariah, carly has her own unique voice and own unique style, and personally i absolutely prefer carly’s voice and style over celines or mariahs. carly’s got soul!

I’ve been trying to figure out where Carly would fit in the scheme of things concerning her voice. And the other day I figured out. Back in the middle and late 70’s there was a voice that was not mainstream rock but still captivated the world with her music. Karen Carpenter. She really didn’t hit very high noted but the quality and tone of her voice was so amazing it made both the “hippies” and the “establishment” accept and love her songs. I thought like a lot of people of a new Streisand or Celine…but she is a future Karen Carpenter.

The fact that Nancy compared Carly to Mariah and Celine shows us that she has no idea what she’s talking about. That’s not the type of singer Carly is nor is it the type of style.

Carly sang some of the greatest songs by the greatest Artist and did a great job on all of them. I can’t imagine anyone on earth who did what she done at 13 yrs old in front of millions of people. How could anyone unless their sick or jealous say negative stuff about he. I say all those produces still can’t believe how good she is and working a plan foe all that greatest talent ever.

carly is the best, i couldnt care less about all that technical B.S. like how high her notes are and whether she can hit an F-6 or not or whatever u said. all i know is she sounds great and her voice is beautiful and she can turn any song including crappy songs into amazing songs with her astronomical talent. and her personality? u dont even know her! shes only 13 and all this fame is new to her, of course shes gonna act awkwardly to it! i would be awkward to at 13 if all of a sudden in a matter of weeks i became famous. you haters need to accept that carly is the next big thing!

Nancy if you think Carly can’t sing don’t buy her album. I love her voice and I can’t wait to buy her albums. As far as personality she is a shy, kind and generous person . I don’t know her but she does a lot of charity work for kids. She is only 13 years old. Why would you expect her to be so media savy? She will learn. And I believe the age of a person can determine the vocal range exspecially high notes. But I’m not an expert. I’m a huge fan. Love Carly Rose. You go girl !!!

Opinions r like a@#holes, we all have 1 & we all know some. I don’t know 1 thing about registers or keys but I know that when Carly Rose Sonenclar sings, I melt. Her voice is spectacular & she thoroughly impressed me every time she stepped in front of a mic, to sing or talk. She is a sweet girl who is somewhat shy & she isn’t an attention seeker. I can relate to her personality completely & cannot wait to buy her first album!

I actually don’t like Bieber. I know what I’m talking about. Carly hits notes from F 3 to F#5 or G5. Everyone acts like she’s the next great singer. She sang Celine Dion’s ‘my heart will go on” in a much LOWER KEY than the one Celine sings it in.carly couldn’t even hit the high notes in Leann Rimes’ song. Carly can’t hit Celine or Mariah notes like a C6, C#6, A5, B5, Bb6, F6, D7, D6. With that Leann Rimes duet, when carly couldn’t hit the notes, she improvised and belted instead. Carly’s singing is suited for broadway because her voice is too big and she belts too much. Carly is not pop star material.

I like Carly. I think her voice is gorgeous. But on some level you are right Nancy. I think she doesn’t have much of a personality. She needs to work on that and work on interacting with people in person. She is slightly awkward during her interviews.

I think carly is overrated as a singer. She hits big notes but not high notes. She strains in her upper register. Plus by this time Rachel Crow was signed last year. No one probably wants to sign her because she’s so bland, dull, and boring. She has no charisma. She comes off as mean and snobbish too.

Yea I heard that Disney wants to sign Diamond to a tv deal and to their hollywood records label. But her 90 day contract isn’t up yet so she can’t make deals. And I thought it was Carly that was going to get all the deals bc she’s so talented. I love her. I can’t believe she’s still unsigned.

Uh, just because Carly is having a writing session with Autumn Rowe and Toby Gad doesn’t mean she’s getting signed to a label. Diamond White has been working with Toby Gad and she’s been in the studio for over a month but you never write about her. IMG Modeling agency, one of the biggest in the world, has contacted Diamond because they want to represent her. They represent Gisele Bunchen and Cindy Crawford and other big time models.
