‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 3 spoilers: Spencer receives a new threat from ‘A’
Over the past two “Pretty Little Liars” season 3 episodes, Spencer Hastings has chosen to keep what has gone on between her and Toby a secret for one simple reason: she was simply too devastated to talk about it. Now, it appears as though there could be a far more sinister motive behind her reason to stay silent.
Before we get to that, though, let’s start things off by showing the latest state of Spencer’s friends. Aria, Emily, and Hanna are of course all extremely concerned about her, but no one at the moment really has any clue just what to d when it comes to her. The three actually make the frightening suggestion to get the information about the breakup from Toby instead (even though to be fair they don’t know he is on the “A Team”), and they also want to try getting Spencer’s brain focused on something else, including the mystery woman in the red coat that Emily remembered thanks to her sessions with Dr. Sullivan.
Just when it seems as though Spencer is finally starting to open up, though, she receives a pretty terrifying message to stay silent courtesy of someone who is clearly still very much out to ruin her life: Mona. While we still don’t understand the motive behind not turning this threat (written on sunglasses that one of her three friends could be “taken” from her) to the police now that they know that Mona is in fact “A,” it seems as though the threat is indeed working based on the look on Spencer’s face.
As for the final sneak peek that we have to share from the episode, we’re venturing a little bit off-course in talking about what is going on at the moment with Hanna and Caleb. The two are continuing to debate about whether or not Caleb needs to get in touch with his past; and while he complains that he does not need her putting herself where she doesn’t belong, he has pretty much done the same thing as of late with Paige.
