‘The Bachelor’: Selma Alameri defends not kissing Sean Lowe

SelmaOn last Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelor,” we had something that is a little bit of a rarity for the show: a contestant actually not wanting to kiss on-camera for religious reasons. The woman that we are talking about here is Selma Alameri, who had her first one-on-one date with Sean Lowe that included plenty of cuddling while out in the desert. She made it clear that she had all of the interest in the world in locking lips with the reality show’s shirtless king, but it was just something she couldn’t bring herself to do on-camera.

This season, the show seems to be focuses on having current contestants in their conference calls rather than those who were already sent home; and with that, Selma had an opportunity to open up to reporters about whether or not she has any regrets about making the decision she did during the date:

“I’m the type of person who never regrets anything I do, honestly. I feel like everything is meant to happen. But I really don’t believe that showing affection in public is a bad thing like my mom does, but at the end of the day, she is my mother and she had one simple request. She didn’t mind that I was going to do the show, which is huge in our culture … It’s big enough to just be going on a dating show, but her one request was, ‘Please, just don’t make out with him on television. Don’t be that girl.’ So to me, it was honestly a simple request.”

Would Sean actually give the final rose to someone that he has not kissed? that is something that we are a bit more doubtful on, since he obviously wants to make sure that he is compatible with her on every level. The only way to get around this is if she makes it to the overnight dates, and they have some time on their own. (However, Sean already said that he is not asking the ladies to stay the night.)
